What I’ve Learned About Nutrition After 15 Years Coaching Clients
After 15 years of coaching clients, I have seen every type of diet, every nutrition trend, and every quick fix.
Some work temporarily.
Most don’t last.
But the people who achieve the best results almost always follow the same principles. Not extreme. Not complicated. Just consistent and effective.
Here is what I have learned.
1. The Best Results Come From Simplicity
The clients who succeed long term don’t follow complicated plans.
They focus on:
• Eating enough protein
• Building balanced meals
• Staying consistent
• Making realistic changes
The more complicated the plan, the harder it is to maintain.
Simple always wins.
2. Extreme Diets Almost Always Backfire
I’ve seen clients try:
• Cutting carbs completely
• Very low calorie diets
• Fasting for long periods
• Eliminating entire food groups
These approaches often work short term, but they are hard to maintain. Eventually, energy drops, motivation fades, and people return to old habits.
Sustainable results come from a balanced approach.
3. Most People Undereat During The Day
This is something I see all the time.
People skip breakfast, have a small lunch, then feel extremely hungry in the evening. This usually leads to overeating later in the day.
A better approach is to:
• Eat balanced meals
• Include protein regularly
• Keep energy levels steady
This reduces cravings and makes nutrition much easier.
4. Consistency Beats Everything
The clients who achieve the best results are not perfect. They are consistent.
They:
• Train regularly
• Eat well most of the time
• Stay patient
• Stick with the process
There is no quick fix. But consistency creates real change.
5. Nutrition Should Fit Your Life
The best nutrition plan is one that works around your lifestyle.
Busy professionals, parents, and people with demanding schedules need practical solutions.
This might include:
• Simple meal ideas
• Flexible nutrition guidance
• Realistic expectations
• Small sustainable changes
When nutrition fits your life, results become easier.
